National Ladder Safety Month 2025

At Wayne's Roofing, safety has been a priority since 1969. That's why we're proud to support National Ladder Safety Month this March, an initiative presented by the American Ladder Institute (ALI) dedicated to promoting proper ladder safety practices both on the job and at home.

Why Ladder Safety Matters

The statistics speak volumes: according to recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, over 22,700 ladder-related injuries occur at workplaces annually—approximately 87 incidents every workday. As commercial roofing specialists who frequently work at heights, we understand that these accidents are entirely preventable with proper training, awareness, and equipment maintenance.

This Year's Key Focus Areas

Throughout March 2025, we'll be highlighting four essential aspects of ladder safety:

  1. Training and Awareness: Ensuring all team members understand proper ladder usage techniques and potential hazards.

  2. Inspection and Maintenance: Teaching the importance of thorough equipment checks before every use.

  3. Stabilization, Setup, and Accessories: Demonstrating correct positioning and the use of appropriate safety accessories.

  4. Safe Climbing and Positioning: Covering best practices for maintaining balance and proper body positioning while on ladders.

Our Commitment to Safety Excellence

With our Experience Modification Rating (EMR) of .5548—well below the industry average—Wayne's Roofing has been recognized by AGC for Exemplary Safety. This achievement reflects our team's dedication to maintaining the highest safety standards across all our commercial roofing and waterproofing projects.

"It doesn't matter if you're the Janitor or the President, it takes everyone to get the job done and everyone's job is equally important," was the motto of our founder, Wayne Wetherbee. This philosophy extends to our safety culture—every team member plays a vital role in keeping our worksites accident-free.
