Safety is a Top Priority at Wayne’s Roofing
With an EMR rating of .63, Wayne’s Roofing is considered one of the safest contractors in Washington.
An EMR or experience modification rating, helps determine the price of worker compensation insurance premiums. For construction, insurance companies use this score to understand the cost of injuries and to determine risk levels and premiums. An average EMR is 1.0.
During the week of October 23-27, Wayne’s will hold their annual Training Week, where we cover an array of safety topics and training. Safety training is crucial in the roofing industry for several reasons:
High-Risk Environment: Roofing work involves working at heights, often in challenging weather conditions. This environment poses significant risks, including falls, slips, and trips, which can result in severe injuries or even fatalities.
Compliance with Regulations: There are stringent regulations and safety standards in the construction/roofing industry. Proper training ensures that workers are aware of these regulations and comply with them.
Preventing Accidents: Safety training provides workers with the knowledge to identify potential hazards and take preventive measures. This proactive approach significantly reduces the likelihood of accidents occurring on the job site.
Protecting Workers' Health: Roofing materials, tools, and exposure to the elements can pose health risks. Training educates workers about the proper use of protective gear, handling hazardous materials, and recognizing symptoms of health issues related to their work environment.
Enhancing Efficiency: Proper training leads to increased efficiency. When workers know how to use equipment correctly and safely, they can complete tasks more effectively, saving time and resources.
Building a Safety Culture: Training fosters a culture of safety. When safety is ingrained in the workplace culture, employees are more likely to look out for one another and follow safety protocols, creating a safer work environment for everyone.
Wayne’s Roofing has been recognized numerous times by the Association for General Contractors (AGC) for Excellence in Safety and Loss and is considered one of the safest contractors in Washington.
